This is a practical guide to writing about mathematics and related sciences for non-expert audience. It was produced by the editors of Plus magazine, Marianne Freiberger and Rachel Thomas, who also run the Mathsci-comm network. The guide draws on personal experience as well as learnings from the workshop Communicating Mathematics for the Public, which took place at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences in Cambridge in January 2023, and which inspired the Mathsci-comm network.

The guide is divided into sections for each stage of the process, from getting started to making sure the information you communicate is trustworthy. The sections each stand alone so you can dive in at any point.
